Amazon® Prime Day 2019

amazon prime day

What is Amazon® Prime Day?

Amazon® Prime Day is an annual shopping event exclusively for Amazon® Prime members. Amazon® Prime Day typically takes place during mid-July and lasts only 48 hours.

Amazon® Prime Day is packed with awesome deals, exciting product launches, live entertainment, and more, exclusively for Prime members.

With mega-retailers battling for consumer spending, events like Amazon® Prime Day offer additional savings opportunities. Not just on Amazon®, but also on many other retailers as well[1].

Pro tip: Look out for anti-prime day sales from Walmart, eBay, Best Buy, Target and more.

To participate in Amazon® Prime Day, all you need is an Amazon® Prime subscription, a computer or a smartphone, and a credit or debit card linked to your prime account!

Amazon® offers a free 30-day Prime membership trial so if you’re not a prime member you may be in luck.  If you’re a student, Prime Student cost $59 per year which is 50% less than a traditional membership and it offers many of the same perks with a 6-month free trial instead of just 30 days.

When is Amazon® Prime Day 2019?

Amazon® Prime Day first launched four years ago and has proliferated into one of the biggest shopping events of the year.

Amazon® Prime Day will extend from 36 hours last year to 48 hours this year on Monday, July 15 at 12 am and runs through Tuesday, July 16th.

In 2018 Amazon® Prime Day surpassed both Cyber Monday and Black Friday with 89 million visitors logging into the site with over 100 million products sold during the sales event.

What are the best Prime Day Deals?

Great question, and I’ll do my best to answer it without the power to predict the future. I’m no Marty Mcfly[2] but here are some early deals I discovered below:

Where can I shop on Prime Day?

You can shop on traditional mediums such as your computer or phone but you can even shop on any Alexa-compatible device. (E.G. Echo Smart Speaker, Echo Dot, etc.)

If you enjoy shopping on your phone be sure to download the Amazon® mobile apps.

How fast will my Amazon® Prime Day deliveries arrive?

Prime members can expect their deliveries to arrive faster than ever.  Amazon® has a one-day delivery service that is available coast to coast in the USA. Also, Prime members will be able to pick up their purchases in-store at the Amazon® counter if they choose. The Amazon® counter is a network of retailers currently consisting of over 100 rite aid stores across the nation.

How can I avoid fake deals on Prime Day?

Well, it goes without saying that every deal won’t be a good deal. So, what can you do to protect yourself?

Sites like Fakespot.com and are great sites to track and compare the price history and spot fake deals on Amazon® products and more.

Where can I find Anti-Prime day deals?

Sites like eBay have already announced crash sales that will start on July 15th. eBay even said they will offer a round of “too good to be true deals.”  Target has just announced Target Deal Days[3] and Walmart has put Vizio TVs on sale and offered next day shipping.  The competition is brewing and the deals will only get better so be on the lookout for deals from most mega-retailers.
