How do Personal Loans work?†
With a personal loan, you can pay off your loan balance at a fixed rate with set monthly payment amount over a scheduled period of time. This type of installment loan may be secured by an asset, have a co-signer, or be unsecured (based on credit history and other factors). What is the difference between an Unsecured Loan and a Secured Loan?
You may qualify for a lower rate and/or a higher loan amount if you are approved for a secured loan, including an auto-secured loan, versus an unsecured loan. See below for more information or reach out to your local branch if you have questions.
Secured Loans
A secured loan means you are pledging something of value as collateral to your loan to ensure that the loan will be repaid according to the loan’s terms and conditions. Assets such as cars can be used as collateral, and, in some instances, the lender can place a lien on the asset, which will remain in place until the loan has been paid in full, including interest and all applicable fees.
It’s important to remember that if you are unable to repay a secured loan, the lender may be able to sell the pledged collateral to pay off all or part of the loan.
Unsecured Loans
Unsecured loans are loans that do not require the borrower to pledge any collateral. If you have been turned down for an unsecured loan, you may still be able to obtain a secured loan if you have an asset that can be used as collateral.

Fast cash! Staff is amazing! Between trying to catch rides, and work I missed 2 appointments, and came late on the third. I myself wouldn’t have been so polite, and helpful the way they were. I have had a wonderful experience with Mariner Finance, and the staff and Branch manager, Chanta Jackson, are beyond stellar in their customer service.
I was helped by Crystal Ryer (I believe, TBI causes me to have a hard time remembering names, etc. Marine Corps skull fracture, what can you do?)... But she was extremely helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. She explained everything in detail, and was more than kind and supportive and warm, which is very refreshing. I didnt feel like a customer, or a job, i felt like I was more than a number. That I was a person, and a part of their family.
So, Mariner, you have an exceptional staff in your Glen Burnie branch that give full transparency and also seem to love what they do, as they are all very incredible the moment you walk in the door, or even call on the phone.
My experience has been much greater than my expectations. You need to appreciate this staff greatly, as your company is only as good as those who run the office... and the staff at Mariner Finance in Glen Burnie are the best group of representatives for your company you could ever hope for.
